STREAM FESTIVAL is an urban music festival staged in downtown Linz. As music festival of the UNESCO City of Media Arts Linz, STREAM deals with contemporary music with thematic focus on digitization. In the spirit of open culture for all, the diverse program with free admission is created together with numerous partners from the independent scene, cultural and educational institutions in Linz, as well as Radio FM4 and Ö1.

A successful STREAM CLUB edition in 2022, the STREAMING STREAM Live-Online Festival in 2021 and the Open Air Festival in 2018 along the Danube in Urfahr – change is part of the DNA of the dynamic, urban music format STREAM.

In 2023, the STREAM FESTIVAL will reinvent itself once again and move to various locations spread throughout downtown Linz: from 18 to 20 May 2023 STREAM FESTIVAL will present it’s three programs STAGE – TALK – CLUB on two open-air stages and will be guest at the Linz University of the Arts, at cultural institutions and clubs in Linz.

The program will be presented at the end of March.

STREAM STAGE, the musical program, reflects the wide-ranging aspects of digitization. But it doesn’t mean electronic music only; so-called pre-digital genres will also make their presence felt during three evenings on the big open-air stage.

STREAM TALK, a series of workshops and talks with experts and artists, offers manifold opportunities for practical and theoretical encounters with the festival’s digitization theme and pop culture.

STREAM CLUB is electronic to the max. This gathering will morph into a club festival pervading the Stream grounds and flowing out into the city at large, as downtown Linz becomes a hotspot of club culture!
